Time to Eat!

When it was time to eat, Daddy Ken was always first in line. He said it was because he had 4 brothers growing up.

If you wanted any food, you had to get there fast!  This was one time I actually beat Daddy Ken in filling my plate.

Something Special about the First Grandchild!

What a special relationship Daddy Ken and Ginger had! She was his first grandchild. Oh... he loved them all the same but it just seems there is a special bond with that first grandchild that is a little different. It's hard to explain until it happens to you.

Grandchildren are such a blessing and Ginger has always been a special blessing to Daddy Ken.

We all had to let him go but we still feel the love he had for us and I take comfort in knowing he felt confident of our love for him. Thank you Ginger for always making Daddy Ken feel special!

Daddy Ken and Horses

Daddy Ken loved horses! When Glenn Jr. asked him to take care of their horses while they were gone for a week he jumped right in there and did it.

When he was a small boy, as he always told the story, he rode his horse up to his elementary school and in one door and out the other. Of course, he got in trouble but he had a story to tell the rest of his life!

When I was a teenager, Daddy Ken bought a horse named June. Although it was kept out in the country I got to ride it quite often. I would even bring her back to our house and ride her in the field of Johnson grass behind our house.

I guess Daddy Ken always had that "cowboy" blood in him and in these photos you can see a little of it.

Another memory from Steve.

Time for a Nap

One of Daddy Ken's favorite things to do on a lazy afternoon was to gather the puppies together and take a long nap. There are four puppies sleeping with him here. Can you find them all?

Happy Thanksgiving

Kenneth always looked forward to the holidays. If he was here now, he would be wishing you all a Happy Thanksgiving!

Thankful

My No. 1 thing that I am thankful for is that Kenneth and I had 56 years to share together.

56th Wedding Anniversary

I want to thank everyone for their prayers and kind actions during this most difficult time. Today is Kenneth and my 56th anniversary. It is very difficult to wake up this morning and again realize my best friend and husband is not here with me on our anniversary. I am sure this day will be very hard for me but with your help I will make it through each day. Thank you for your cards, e-mails, calls, visits, and especially your prayers.
